My favorite show is Smallville and before the season ended it got sooooo muchhhhhh more interesting. Now i have to wait a whole summer, which is about half way over, for the conclusion to the season finale. Why can't they have the show run all year long? Don't tell me it's because the actors need a break because I know everybody else in the world works all summer too.

Did you not read my details? If everyone else in the world is being paid monkey crap to work all year then why do actors and actresses need a whole summer off when they're making millions of dollars a year?

It also has to be with ratings, veiwers, realism. Yes, you're right, actors do make a lot, more than they need. They don't nessisarily need a summer break, but they also have other jobs they do. Advertisment, movies, meetings, such and such things. Also, many people are off during the summer. They go on vacation, the producers go on vacation [...maybe ]. They make the season finales' suspencful so you WILL watch the season premeire. And also, the actors have contracts, for a certain amount of episodes and such, so they don't want to continue making episodes when they won't get money for it [veiwers, good advertising... blah blah... ].

It's because when the weather is nice outside people don't want to be stuck indoors watching television, or if series were aired over the summer, television executives can't be sure that the ratings will be as high as they are at other times of the year.

Siince tv audiences shrink in the summer, people are outside enjoying the nice weather, tv shows are re-run. In Sept., when kids are back in school and things get back to the old routine and people are back in doors, the new tv season starts.
