Why? People should not have wild animals as pets. Wild animals should remain just that, WILD. It's stupid to think you could care for an animal that would grow in excess of 300 pounds, with 2-3 inch canines and the crushing jaw force to break bones. First you most likely couldn't afford to buy one, secondly, your local community codes probably prohibit it, thirdly, do you have the proper environment to keep it in? Then there's the question of proper veterinarian care, (if you could find a vet that would know what's it's doing with an exotic). Then the cost of food.
It's totally ridiculous that anyone with any common sense would want an exotic pet. GROW UP - GET REAL! Wild animals are WILD.

They may look cute, but they are considered exotic pets and illegal in most states. For good reason too! These pets ARE NOT domestic animals. They will eat hundreds of pounds of food a week. If you have acres for them to roam (and plan to cage it, sides and top), thousands of dollars to pay in food each week, and more thousands of dollars to pay in vet fees (if you can even find one in your area). Then maybe you can have one.
These animals take serious training experience (meaning more thousands of dollars and years to learn). It is not like a housecat. You don't litterbox train these animals. Some large cats can also be excited by the smell of a womans monthly bloodflow and be enticed to attack. Visit these creatures at the local zoo, or buy a life sized stuffed one to keep you company. You will both be much happier and safer.

do you realize that to have the proper facilities and to take good care of a bengal tiger would cost you over $10,000 a year? these aren't pets, they're wild animals. do you have the training to take care of one? do you have enough space to house one? if you really love these animals you would support an organization that tries to protect these endangered animals and not try to put one into captivity just to make yourself feel good.

Don't try the Patent office.
I went to the Patent Office to register some of my inventions.
I went to the main desk to sign in and the lady at the desk had a form that had to be filled out. She wrote down my personal info and then asked me what I had invented.
I said, "A folding bottle."
She said, "Okay, what do you call it?"
I said "A Fottle."
"What else do you have?"she asked me.
I said "A folding carton."
"And what do you call it?"
I said "A Farton."
She snickered and said, "Those are silly names for products! And one of them sounds kind of crude."
I was so upset by her comment that I grabbed the form and left the office without even telling her about my folding bucket.
