I can not stand the artificial odor of some air fresheners. I got this tip from a friend of mine. Use apple cider vinegar,(at first you may have to use several bowls) pour in a small bowl when you leave the house, when you return you will not believe the difference. Suggestion don't do this if you are not going to leave your apartment for a few hours, the vinegar odor is over bearing. You can dispose of the vinegar by pouring down the sink, it will also keep your drains smelling fresh. Most important ITS CHEAP!

Nothing better than fresh air- try leaving the windows open for an hour or so. You can have potpourri in a jar, and sprinkle that with peach essence ( made for re-freshening potpourri) - I guarantee it lingers for days. It gives the room a real fresh smell. Then you can use lavender air freshener which is nice too. I find the potpourri essences marvelous.

Get one of those diffuser oil room fresheners with the bamboo reeds. They last a long time and when the smell starts to diminish you just take a few of the reeds and turn them upside down in the bottle and the smell gets stronger again. I have seen them at Hobby Lobby, Michaels and they sell them in a catalog called "Wisteria" which has a website. These are more expensive but well worth it.

Air wick sparkling matic works wonders, yet in case you are able to lite a flame (i'm guessing you are able to't if you're actually not even allowed to apply a plug) attempt the Gold Canyon Candles. i purchased some for a fund raiser and that i have stocked up considering the fact that then. they have tremendous smells that make your mouth water like creme brule' and cinnamon vanilla, new vehicle and such diverse others. they could triumph over an entire room with the finished smell to mask any stench.

Get Wallflowers from Bath and Body Works. I just moved into an apartment that has that "old dorm" feeling to it and I bought about seven of them to spread around different rooms of the house. They are plugged into electric outlets and work for several weeks (you can get refills). They are about $12 but they really work.

Try using an Oust Portable Fan. I use one by the litter box and we never smell the cat.
