It depends on alot of things. Generally your first pregnancy the baby will drop noticeably before you deliver. Example might be you go to bed one night and then wake up and the baby has descended into your pelvis. Usually with subsequent pregnancies "lightening" as it is called doesn't usually happen until labor begins, although sometimes it happens sooner (it did with me). Good Luck!

The baby begins to drop gradually, the loss of your PLUG will be the first sign that the baby has begun its descent, the PLUG will continue to be lost through normal urinary voids, don't be alarmed. When the baby finally DROPS is when your water breaks, and that can happen slowly for some women. Some women experience a leak for a few days and then a sudden gush, other women such as myself never experience the water breaking, instead have the doctor puncture the bag with an obstetric tool.
In short when the baby finally DROPS, your contractions will begin.
Note: the PLUG is a thick white to yellowish mucous looking secretion, it kinda resembles a huge SLUG.
Good luck and may God bless your newborn...*.*...

More than likely you won't notice the change because it happens gradually (within a few days). Other people who see you often might say something though. With both of my pregnancies, I didn't notice, but everyone and their brother would say "It looks like you dropped!"..so who knows. The only way to know if you have for sure, is when you go to the doctor, you will measure the same for a few weeks or a little less.

It does happen gradually even though to some it's like you look down and wow, I've dropped. It's not like an alarm goes off or anything. And it is more obvious to come then others. When I had my daughter I was bed ridden so I couldn't even tell when she dropped till I got up to go to the bathroom and the nurse announced it to me. My son on the other hand, I totally noticed. Once he dropped, I always had that pressure on my tale bone and extra pressure and pain in my back. Breathing got easier, but for me not much, he was over 9 pounds. I had lots of pressure in my tale bone and my waddle got really bad. :)

Usually you can see and feel a difference, but walking can always help with the baby dropping. The best way to tell is that you will feel more energy all of the sudden.
I pray you have a quick and easy delivery

I couldn't feel it drop with both my pregnancies. I would think it does kinda suddenly but it doesn't hurt you. Except if you get real bad pressure on your bones down there.

That is exactly what it feels like when the baby drops. Make sure your bags are packed. It shouldn't be too much longer. Congratulations.
