Like most of us, I did not sit through the trial, nor saw all the facts presented. However, of what I understand about the case, I believe the recent verdict was correct.

Sociopathic behavior, like that exhibited by serial murders and even by Susan Smith, is highlighted by extreme selfish motives. True psychosis, a break from reality, lacks rational motivation and the person is beyond their own self control.

The fact that she did not have a reasonable motive, as I recall was previously treated for other mental illness, and did not try to hide or cover up her deeds makes me strongly suspect that she had a complete break from reality.

While I hope she never has anymore children (for her sake) and gets the treatment she needs, locking her up will neither correct the crime, nor impart any justice. She is not sociopathic (or what some people call 'evil') and has already lost too much.In my opinion she is a deeply troubled person who needs help.

Of course she's insane, anyone who kills someone has to be insane, especially to kill your own five kids in such a horrible way. Just because she was insane doesn't mean she didn't have some feeling that what she was doing wasn't normal. Now she goes to live in a mental hospital where she can do crafts, garden, watch TV, even go on trips to the mall. The average stay for a patient in a mental hosptial is 36 days, So she will likely be returned to the world before long. Some would say that's punishment enough and she should get a second chance, but she didn't give her children a second chance.

She and her husband were very religious (she killed her kids over her religious beliefs) so that would explain his opposition to birth control.

People who live their lives by such religious ideologies sometimes follow their chosen faiths blindly to their own detriment. I do not blame religion for the problems suffered by this woman, but I do believe that if she was a nonbeliever her children would be alive today.

I agree with the verdict, however she should be sterilized to ensure she never conceives again.

I don't know all the facts either. I think she had to be insane to do something like that and she should spend a lot of time in a mental hospital. I didn't think he husband had anything to do with the children's deaths but I do think he was very arrogant and very selfish. I remember hearing something about her doctors telling him before the last child was conceived that she shouldn't have anymore children but he wouldn't allow birth control or allow her to have any help with the children. I saw no compassion towards his wife whatsoever. There was/is something about him that I don't like. I don't use this word very often but I think he's a bas**rd.

i've got have been given faith it particularly is a query of labeling in united states of america. all and dissimilar and each and each little element would have a label on it. Conservative, Liberal,Constitutionalists, Libertarian, Democrat, Republican, and so on. and so on. and so on..such dissimilar labels, lots divide. isn't that the game? Divide and triumph over. All i understand is United we stand and divided we fall. What ought to take place if we did away with political labeling altogether? Then human beings ought to ought to certainly instruct themselves as to who to vote for. subsequently the stranglehold on funds and political means the Democrats and Republicans have in Washington would desire to be divided and used greater suitable in accordance to what WE the human beings choose.
