ok well i don't know much about going to the nail salons but i think i have been confusing french manicures for fake nails or something. I am thinking of getting something done to my toenails. I don't want fake nails or airbrushed things becuase they seem tacky to me. i just want something that will make my nails look elegant. is the french manicure what i want? i think it is the one that has the thin white line on the edge. forgive me that i am clueless.

Yes, you are thinking of a french pedicure (pedicure is a just a manicure for the feet and toe nails). This is a thin white line across the tips of the toe nail overlayed with a very light natural looking color with anywhere from pinkish to beige tones. This gives you a very clean and neat "manicured" look that tends to last alot longer than the normal nail polish. I recommend it. You will love it!

A french manicure can be done on toe nails. If you have it done professionally they will of course clean you feet first, and apply a white polish for the top of your nail just down a little bit. Than they will apply a slightly pink colour on top of all your nail. Hoverer, every elegant it does not last long on you toe nails as it does on your finger nails.

French manicure/frenth tip is when you do your nails one color (usually nude) but can be done it other colors. And then get the tip of your nail white. The colors may vary. For example say you dont wanna do nude a white tip. You may get your nail pink n the ti black, mix n match n have fun!

yes, you are describing a french manicure...there is also something similar that my salon does that is called an American manicure...you can get this on your fingernails and your toenails...tell them you just want a manicure/pedicure....no tips or overlays....you can even buy these kits in stores so you can do it yourself at home....it saves money but takes a little time and practice....

If you want them done on your feet, it's actually called a pedicure. But you can choose if you want the fake nails or not. It's usually about 10 bucks depending on where you go.
