My car is about 17 years old, and keeps breaking down on me. It seems like every 2 or 3 months I have to put like $400 worth of work into it. My credit score is really really horrible, so I'm afraid that I won't get approved for a car loan. I also think that if I do get approved for one, I'll be paying out the ying yang in high interest fees. I would like to ask my boyfriend if I could borrow his while he is over in Kuwait for the next year, but am a pretty prideful person. I don't like having to ask others for help, but in this case, I feel like I almost don't have a choice. No one else in my family has the financial ability to help me or another car that I can use. How can I set my pride to the side and just ask him? I do have a plan on how to save about $2500 for a newer (still used) car.

Go ahead and ask , your worrying too much about it . I borrowed money from my girlfriend with no problems. On a lighter note , we married later and I hadn't paid her back , then when tax time came around she hadn't paid hers and I had to pay 2500 dollars when we filed our joint return ha,ha and I only borrowed 300 dollars. She still asks me for that 300 on a regular basis and one day I'm gonna let her have it .This has been going on for 20 years now. Good luck hope all works out for you.

Ask him but have a plan first. Make sure you take care of the car and pay for the insurance Why not open an account and put in
$210.00 a month in and by the time your boyfriend comes home you will have the money to buy a car! Most people like to lend a hand but only if your willing to help yourself first.

You should only ask him if you're prepared to do 4 things....first pay him a small fee each month that's agreeable to the two of you....second keep the car maintained......third be prepared to pay for any damages done to the car before he gets back...and 4th the two of you should decide how much mileage is OK for you to put on the car.
If you can't do those things leave his car alone.

JUST ASK!!! But if you really need a reason: Tell him that you'd like to borrow his car to use to go to work everyday and use when you absolutely need it and that you won't use to like drive to the other side of the country.

Just ask him if u can use it. Im sure he wont mind u wouldnt look like ur dependent on him. If my girl wanted to drive my car id think that wus sessy. And do sumthing special for him for letting u borrow it sorta like a exchange.

think of it this way.... you have a job and are supporting yourself...your credit is horrible....your shelling out thousands of $$ for a mechanic to fix it...that alone would hurt my pride. I would set it aside and just ask him... what would it hurt? nothing!! because your already hurting. just ask him itll be good for you. To me asking your b/f to use his car doesnt sound like your dependant. You need help and hopefully hes there for you. good luck!!!

Swallow your pride and ask. But offer to keep up the maintenance on his car such as oil change or othe fluid changes. And,let's not forget the gas.
