some anti-virus programs will not operate correctly and or function if there is another one present/enabled because it causes an interfearence within the control system, it will also slow down your computer by a whole lot, just get one a good one with all the options like anti-virus,anti-spam-anti-spyware,firewall and update them regularly, McAffe is good and so is Trend Micro

You can, but there's a good chance they will interfere with each other and muck up your computer. McAfee, Norton, AVG, Zonelabs all have good antivirus software. If it's for personal use, AVG is even free! Zonelabs offers a good firewall that is free, as well. Also, make sure you have AdAware or Spybot Search and destroy, both are free and are great anti-spyware programs.

Not only can you, but you should.

Don't use Norton. It is a huge resource hog, and difficult to remove. There are several free anti-virus programs out there--I'm partial to Avast myself.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

firefox can edit which site/popup to block and unblock.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
