Drive East 3 hours to the moutains such as Sonora Twain Harte, Pinecrest. From Twain Harte East you will be in the Pines and many areas in Tuolumne County to fish, hike, swim. Have fun Hwy 108 is the main Highway via 680/580 from the Bay Area

Not too many cabins in the Bay Area. But maybe look into Point Reyes National Seashore, John Muir Woods, Castle Rock State Park, Henry Cowell State Park, or Mt. Tamalpais State Park. There could be cabins there, but don't count on it. At least there are camping sites
