My Mother always made more money than my Dad, and there was never a problem because it was not "my money vs your money". The income to the house from booth sources was put together as it should be and used to pay the bills and do anything else. (My parents are still together by the way). I was the breadwinner in my marriage, but that did NOT work because he was just lazy and didn't want to work. He was able to work physically, but chose to let me support the family while he did nothing, not even clean the house. If it is ok with you and your significant other who works and who doesn't (and you are able to afford to do that), and as long as the one staying home is taking care of the home, then what's the problem?

The reason I am still single at age . . . let's say past 25, being a beautiful, intelligent and independent woman is because no matter how financially stable I am, I still want a man who would be the breadwinner like in the good old time. I want to feel taken care of. I want to know that I work because I like what I do not because I have to bring home a paycheck.

I've been in both positions. As long as we are both working toward the same goals, then I don't think it really matters. Having said that, I'm the kind of guy who likes to earn his own keep and have his own pocket money, and it did bother me a little in that respect when my wife was earning a living while I was finishing school.

I am the provider and I don't like it one bit. My boyfriend refuses to work full time. I work all that I can. Many times I feel used. I am not picky, I will take a man who just works full time and contributes equally.

Me personally hell no it wouldnt bother me, with divorce rate as high as 50% these days that would definetly help in my favor. The more money the better i say even if i'm not making it.
