Bikini waxing is a type of hair removal in the pubic region. A bikini wax involves the removal of pubic hair adjacent to the pantyline (or "bikini") area. This is a fairly common procedure in the United States. Because it can be painful, some estheticians suggest taking ibuprofen one hour before the wax.
Procedure
You will need to take your pants/trousers off. If you are wearing a skirt, you can normally just lift this to your waist. As you are just removing the edges of your pubic hair, you can normally leave your underwear on.
The person doing your bikini wax will tuck some paper inside the edge of your underwear to stop any wax getting on them.
He/she will apply a layer of wax to the area. He/she will then place a wax strip on top, and rip it off quickly. He/she will repeat this procedure until he/she has removed all the hair from your bikini line area.
The procedure is similar to that for the more extreme Brazilian wax. Unlike the Brazilian wax, a bikini wax can be performed privately in the home, but it is generally more convenient to have a licensed cosmetologist or esthetician perform the procedure.

Standard bikini wax - Area waxed is the upper thighs
Bikini line - Area waxed is the hair poking out from your underwear.
Brazilian type 1 - Area waxed is most of your pubic hair, leaving just a "landing strip" (the last bit of hair, shaped in a vertical strip).
Brazilian type 2 - Area waxed is ALL your pubic hair.
Salons differ so it's best to ask what they define as a "bikini wax" (some places have different names for the second type of Brazilian wax).
For a full bikini wax, the pain is overrated. Seriously.
The pain lasts for a second, doesn't linger at all (your skin is pretty resilient to pain). If you can get used to the pain of waxing your legs and underarm then you can definitely get used to this.
Hair has to be about 1cm in length. Make sure the beautician uses wax that will harden and NOT strip wax that they typically use on legs. Wax that hardens will get a better grip on the hair so it reduces the chances of the beautician having to re-wax the same area if the first try missed hair (and re-waxing the same area could cause bruising).
I think the BIGGER issue people have is being comfortable while naked from the waist down in front of someone else.
1. Try and be comfortable with the person doing the waxing.
2. You do not need any painkillers (unless you REALLY can't take ANY kind of pain). If you want, you can buy an anaesthetic cream from a pharmacy apply it just before you go for the waxing.
3. Beauticians are professionals and there is no reason for you to be paranoid about what they could possibly think of your body. They do this for a living. They're like dentists.
4. Stare at the ceiling during the waxing, do NOT look at what's going on down there.
Does it hurt: Yes, like a mother....but not for long :)
Is is worth it: Hell, yes!
I went for a full bikini wax regularly for 2 years before i saved up enough money to for laser hair removal (best money i ever spent).

Hi,
It depends on what you get. If you get just a regular bikini wax, they take the hair off of your actual bikini line (the part that would show when wearing a bathing suit or underwear).
A brazilian on the other hand gets a "little" more personal. There are two types: a partial and a full:
A full is when they take EVERYTHING off so dont be shy because it can get awkward, especially when you have to hold your legs up in the air so they can get every last hair!!!
A partial brazilian tends to vary from salon to salon. Usually, they will take off the hair on the bikini line and then some leaving you with a strip of hair. Some places will still clean out the labia area and underneath as well.
No matter which you choose, it's awkward. I have been getting brazilians both full and partial (depends on my mood) for years. It is a bit painful, but it gets easier with time. Be sure to choose a place that you know is both sanitary and professional. Dont just go somewhere cuz its cheap. Brazilian waxes range from 30-70 dollars from my experiences.
Hope this was helpful and good luck.
FYI....sometimes taking some motrin or tylenol before the process helps with the pain!!

relies upon on what you elect. the hollywood is all the fashion on the 2d (thats ALL off.) brazillian leaves somewhat touchdown strip interior the middle on the front (like hitlers tash merely the incorrect way around lol) the conventional bikini wax is merely your bikini line to stop any stray hairs from poking out the climate! multiple individuals that have had waxing completed experience that removing hair makes them experience extra proper approximately themselves, seems extra proper and feels cleanser. in my view ive tried all of them, hair removing feels nicer even with the undeniable fact that it relies upon in case you may positioned up with the wax bumps (I even have real sensative dermis so i'm getting them quite badly) which will properly be sore and the patchyness while the hair starts coming by way of! if your no longer too specific approximately it what i will advise is probably reducing the hair shorter, appearing some pruning which you will communicate in case you basically have a bikini wax then its nonetheless neat and tidy the two way! :)

Believe it or not, some salons say "bikini wax" and they only wax the upper thighs, NOWHERE near the "bikini line"...I think that's better termed a "brazilian" and even then, you best ask for THEIR def of a "brazilian wax"...some remove only what might peek out of the bikini, and some totally brazilian you--ouch! and flip over, OUCH!!!! OUCH!! OUCH!!!
