To be honest I don't believe they are. However, as a single parent (as per the choice of my estranged husband for greener grass) of three children myself I find it very hard emotionally, physically and mentally being a lone parent. Even so I would never harm my children nor neglect them; the mere idea is abhorrent to me. No one understands the difficulties a lone parent endures until they become one. Please do not label/misjudge those who work so very hard to pick up the pieces and strive for a homely, comforting, safe, loving environment for their beloved offspring.

I am not sure this is always true. But if it is...
People who where abused as children often have a hard time with relationships... sometimes causing them to be raising a child alone... people who where abused as a child are way more likely to abuse their children. It is a cycle.
They need to find a healthy way to release their emotional pain.

Frustration, having to be both parents, work and keep house. Its not a valid excuse, no one should abuse another person.

I think just the opposite, more time for kids cause they dont have to divide their time with a spouse. Also too much fighting in the house with spouse can hurt them.

they are extra stressed out with no partner to share parenting dutieis with. It doesnt make it right, but that is part of the frustration.

They don't have anyone to share the duties with.

They don't have anyone to talk over what is reasonable and what isn't, or to tell them they are going to far.

they are under a lot of stress to raise their kids, and they have less time/energy to do even more work.

but it is still really sad.
