My dear, you spelled it incorrectly. It's spelled C-R-A-P, but the C is silent.
The best rap songs were before the "gansta period" (i.e. late 80s, early 90s). I don't get the thing about grills either. My orthodontist says I need braces and I don't see anything cool about those.
And I don't get the thing about "bling-bling." And why does every other word have to have "izzle" at the end of it?
If you hate rap, you'll love Weird Al Yankovic's songs ("Amish Paradise" is his best one). Not all are parodies of rap songs but some are. My favorite is "Couch Potato," which is a parody of Eminem's "Lose Yourself." Look up Weird Al on his site (just google him) or on iTunes.
There's a guy in a comedy rap group called "Sudden Death" and they're not mainstream but they are incredibly hilarious! Go to www.suddendeath.org for more info.
I believe the reason why today's kids have loose morals stems from not only media (rap music included) but from parenting as well.

I agree with you a little bit. Rap has lost it's uniqueness and realness. Some of the current songs and artist are good but it does get on my nerves when all I hear in the music is drugs, hoes, guns, and cash. There are more positive artist like Kayne West, Common, The Roots, LL Cool J, and Mos Def. Ever since gangsta rap took over the real message of hip-hop has completely changed. hip-hop isn't about the cars, the girls, the bling, the cash, and the gangsta mentality, It's all about sending a political message and the struggles in the hood.

And rock songs don't talk about using heroin and sex with groupies? Don't blame the whole society on a music genre, it's a music genre for god's sake! Blame people's behavior on their parents, the way they were raised. I think it's ok for a kid to listen to rap, as long as the parent doesn't let the kid live the life rappers and gangsters live.

They are ridiculous but there no more ridiculous than some of those rock & roll songs that are out.You don't have to buy that type of music nor do you have to listen to it but apparently someone out there likes the music because they are going platinum. You can decide what you want to listen to and not listen.

lol I don't want to diss rap because I'm definitely a fan, but you have a point. the wya I see it the rap industry will be able to come out with new songs forever, just as long as they can come up with new rediculous words or phrases to describe girls' a$$e$...example: Salt Shaker, Laffy taffy lol I love rap but only for the beats...

Come on, that's really not your grouse now is it? let us know what's really buggin you, you're going in circles instead of getting to the point so you're really not going to get the answers that you want. Come on you can say what's really on your mind, we won't be angry, or hate you for it or call you a racist or any thing like that now... I'm sure that there blacks in your neighborhood, that you work with them and that at least one of your friends is of another racial group so why would we think that you're prejudiced.

We wouldn't expect you to understand it anyway. Don't listen to it if you hate it so much. Go somewhere and leave it to the rap fans who appreciate the music for what it is: poetry. Free speech.
