FULDA, Germany, Dec 8 (AFP) - An American soldier cut off the head of his pregnant wife's lover and put it on her bedside table in the hospital here where she was about to give birth, a spokesman at the German public prosecutor's office said on Wednesday.
If you're lucky they put you in jail, strip your rank, take your pay.
If you aren't lucky, You end up Dead.
Happens more often than any one knows

It all depends but yes you can get demoted, fined and even a dishonorable discharge. The odds of going to jail are slim but possible. As a member of the armed forces you are expected to conduct yourself in a professional and moral manner at all times. After all you are representing out country. If you can not live up to the expectations that are required of military service then I suggest you request a discharge.

If there is a complaint lodged against you, you can be courts martialed for "conduct unbecoming an officer". You can be dishonorably discharged, given a reduction in rank, or cashiered from the military altogether. They don't tend to do jail much anymore, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's not worth it.
