Your camera should of came with a disk to download and a cord that runs from your camera to your computer.
Once you install your disk you should be ready to go.
If you have a used camera or something and do not have the cord or disk you can usally find them on ebay.

Your camera should have come with a USB cable. It also should have a CD rom to upload software to the computer. My Kodak Easyshare V530 came with both, as well as a printing dock. The directions with the camera told me how to plug it in & install the Kodak Easyshare software. Regardless of the make & model of your camera, you should have the above items. Newer computers have ports for the memory cards on the front of the towers. My dinosaur Gateway doesn't but I can use the charging station to upload the pictures to the software, edit them there & then email them to myself for printing through Wal-Mart, Target or wherever I want.
Don't waste your money on a card reader. I almost bought one when I got my camera. When I got my camera out of the box, I soon read in the directions that I had everything I needed for connecting to my computer, front card slot or not.

You need to have a card reader attached to your computer. This is where you stick the card from the camera in.
Otherwise you can buy a USB or Firewire cable to attach your camera to the computer. Windows XP should automatically recognize it and bring up the download option.

You basically have two options...
It should have come with a USB cable. If you have that just hook it directly to you computer and download them.
If you have a slot on your computer for your card you can stick that in your computer. If you don't have a slot you can buy an adapter (like at Wal-mart).
Hope this helps!

Download Picasa from Google. Its a really neat, free program that manages your digital photos. The best part is when you stick your memory card in your computer, it automatically downloads them for you.

well you first need to install drivers (unless your digital camera is plug and play compatible.)
After doing that you can look in my computer and it should show it. (using windows xp)
