does limewire pose a real virus threat to my computer?

i want to know if my computer is subject to viruses through limewire. if so, is it worth the free music. also, would it help if i uninstalled limewire when i'm done using it, and only reinstalling it whenever i need a song or two, and then uninstalling it again.

Yes limewire poses many threats as far as virus but if you have an reliable anti-virus program you should be fine to keep it on your system I use www.avg.com it is free and very dependable~ (I have had NO problems) good luck!

Limewire does not have a virus in the software but some of the downloads do. Just don't download any software off LimeWire otherwise you will have a virus. Also when downloading check the file size and see whether it is a reasonable size or too small like all files with a size of like 0kb are definitely viruses well likely to be.

Any time you connect to another pc or download something, your at risk. However you don't have to unistall the program. Just make sure the program is closed when not using it. I have limewire myself and only run it when I'm downloading music.

As to Limewire, as long as you have 4.10.9, it is clean. Anything lower than that should be uninstalled

Look mate if your really concerned get Avast installed(antivirus program) and you can download what you like no worries. good luck. Installing & uninstalling only wastes time when you could be enjoying great music.

i have had lime wire for about a year and i dont have a virus. i think its pretty safe. although someone might put something on there that could give you a virus but its pretty rare. you should download it.
