A pole is not a standard unit of measurement. Maybe ask your question again with more detail as to what you really want to know.
If you are trying to figure out how tall a flag pole is from the ground, you can measure the shadow and the angle of the pole, consider how it forms a triangle, and from that take leg times leg to solve for the height. (did it many years ago for geometry class). If your question is something like that, ask it on the mathematics forum and maybe someone would remember how to do it.... 10th grade Geometry was a LONG time ago for me, can't remember all the specifics... :-)
