Men can be called nymphomaniacs, just as women can be called actors, the correct word for men is satyriasis - nymphs and satyrs were the spirits of sexuality in female and male form respectively in ancient Greece (where the word comes from) - however a more modern way of saying it is that a person is hypersexual.

In the past, women weren't supposed to enjoy sex. I was just for procreation. Only men where supposed to enjoy it. So it was normal for a guy to love sex and want to be with a lot of gals. Ever wonder why women can be sluts and not men? Women are supposed to be all prim and proper and not want anything but a family.

"Hypersexuality is a desire for human sexual behavior at levels high enough to be considered clinically significant.

The concept of hypersexuality replaces the older concepts of nymphomania (or furor uterinus) and satyriasis. Nymphomania was believed to be a psychological disorder characterized by an overactive libido and an obsession with sex. In males the disorder was called satyriasis (for etymology of the words, see nymph and satyr). "Nymphomania" and "satyriasis" are no longer listed as specific disorders in the DSM-IV.

Nymphomania owes its name to the feminine nature spirits of Ancient Greece, known as nymphs. Satyriasis owes its name to the mythical masculine creatures of Ancient Greece, half man/half goat creatures known as Satyrs."

From a woman's standpoint: As long as we are here to reproduce, self-pleasure is not our objective. We don't make ourselves a priority until we're done with all that. There's no getting around all that, this is our purpose ... after that, there's no stopping us!
