I used to miss school and work. After 20 years of painful, heavy periods, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. Look it up online and see if the symptoms sound familiar. I ended up having a Hysterectomy to get rid of the pain. Although there is no real cure. Good Luck and see your doctor.

Exercise can help with the pain try squat jumps or something like that.
Heat can help too put a hot water bottle on your tummy for a while
Tens machines - these are fantastic I use mine every month it takes away the pain & just leaves me with a slight ache.
Tens machines use pads that give your body really really slight electric impulses that stimulate your bodies nerves to produce more of the body's natural painkillers and this stops the pain, even women in labour have used them and found relief from the pain.
I swear by mine & the best thing is they can be used for lots of pain like headaches, pulled muscles, arthritis etc

I get that sometimes too.. I hate it..
Neurofren usually helps, and hit just makes it worse for me I put something cold on my stomach and it gets better, well it depends what my body wants each month, sometimes walking helps and sometimes not moving at all, try not to eat anything heavy before your period is due, it's worse with a full belly, mine feels like it wants more room when is swollen.
Go to the doctor if you're worried, or if its too painful
And be happy, having your period, is a perfectly good excuse to be an angry B*tch, just blame it on period pain and hormones, no one can argue with you then lol
I do that..

Hi, Periods can be painful but usually nurofen and a hot water bottle or warm bath can help. If you are having severe pain you need to be refered to a gynacologist. You may have endometriosis that causes severe pain and heavy bleeding. I had a hysterectomy last year and im only 24 so it is important to find what is wrong before any damage is done. Please relax and have a nice warm bath - best wishes xx

Poor you. I also suffered extremely painful periods when I was younger. Over the counter pain killers and a hot water bottle usually helped - but there's not much you can do to stop it completely I'm afraid.
Although, if they're excessively painful, you need to see your doctor - there is a condition called endemetriosis that should be ruled out.
But, other than that, it's all part and parcel of the joy of womanhood!!!!!

you should talk to your doctor and ask for some perscription medicine that you can actually swallow. part of this is mental too!!! rubbing oil on your stomach doesn't exactly make you feel like your doing anything. have you seen those commercials for getting shorter periods? go to www.shortperiod.com. i've always wanted to try that but i think there are a lot of risks. hope you'll be ok this month.... hold on!!!

I used to sit with a hot water bottle and take over the counter pain meds. You can buy heat pads from the chemist they are quite good.
I used a tens machine and it helped a bit.
