Corning, NY very quiet, friendly town. Not a lot of drugs or violence. Everyone knows everyone. Hickory NC is awesome, but then again I am a teenager! You wouldnt want to raise a small child there, lots of drugs and violence. A cops house got shot up on my street so if that tells you anything!

pittsburgh, pa. my wife and i asked that question about 6 months ago and have done some lookin around. pittsburgh pretty much fit all of our critiria other than it getting cold there. cost of living is low. you can purchace a home starting at around 50k, and find something very nice for around 100k. public schools are very, very good. cant even compare phoenix's scholls to theirs, the city is not to big and not to small. there is also plenty of things to do as a family out there. well the place fit for us. we are moving out there next may. good luck!
