there are some, ur teeth can become dull, [making u have to cheww more to indegest food] the dirt in ur nails can cause u to throw up, and if u have nail poilsh u can get other symthongs

Well, choking, if you choked on a nail fragment, though that's pretty unlikely.

I would not be surprised, however, to see an infection. Nail biting generally leads to a lot of small open wounds around the nail bed and cuticles, and since we use our hands for almost everything, they are more exposed to bacteria than a lot of other body parts. I used to (and still do, occasionally) bite my nails and I've never had an infection, but it's certainly possible.

When I was in high school my science teacher told me that you can get worms if there happens to be dirt under your finger nails. And I can tell you the health risk my husband faces from his nail biting, I feel like smacking him because it drives me crazy.

You will easily get the germs into your body through your mouth. Finger nails are a good hiding place for virus and fungus, therefore, we should trim it regularly and maintain its hygeinic condition all the time. Now, biting it, means eating the germs.
