Yes, they'll more than likely have to look. Don't freak out. You don't have anything they haven't seen before - I promise! They're professionals, and you've gotta be pretty unusual for them to freak. (I'm talking one out of a zillion kinda case.)

To be honest, the gyno is SO not my favorite visit ever, but ya gotta do it. They do talk you thru it every step of the way, and by all means ASK if you have questions at any point and tell them you're freaked out - they'll probably be even more accomodating.

Good luck! You'll get thru it!

Of course, they'll not only look at it but IN it. Don't be freaked out, it's nothing they haven't seen before. They use a tool called a speculum to open you up. They might take samples of your inside with a long Qtip. They visually examine your outside and if anything is out of the ordinary there they may take a sample as well. It's a little uncomfortable but doesn't hurt. Relax, take deep breaths and you'll be fine.

They will have to look at it but most practitioners are very professional and will make you very comfortable. Getting your problems taken care of is part of life. Soreness down there is very vague and you'll have to tell your provider exactly what you mean - where, how long, etc. can't get too much more specific since this is an online chat but I have practiced women's health care for 13 years and being sore down there is no big deal to us.

I went for the first time today. It wasnt as bad as I thought that it would be. I think that with your soreness that you should be checked out down there and most likely will. Honestly the exam only lasts a few minutes. It feels uncomfortable, but since it was fast it wasnt unbearable. Good luck.

The first time I went they just talked to me because I was sore and it hurt like crazy when I peed,so we talked about it the first tim e.The second time, she had to examine me.If you problems peeing she might stick a tiny tube in where the urine comes out.It will feel uncomfortable, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
One thing-alot of gy n are people who also help weomen to give birth,so dont feel bad.
They are used to actually seeing and touching pregnant people's stuf.hey are used to touching and looking at crotches that have green stuff comin out. They are used to smelling foul odors, and even being peed on.So dont feel bad,you are probably giving them a break!

If this is the first time to the gyn, I know that it can be stressful. But, as a young women, it is time to take responsibility for your health, which means getting to know your body. Your gyn will have to examine you. They will not be able to help you unless you let them. Don't worry, unfortunately this is part of being a women. My only advice...get to know your body, know your dr., ask questions and try not to be embarrassed. This is what they do and they have seen and heard it all honey.

I am attaching some helpful links for you. Good Luck!

Yes, they will have to look at it. It may feel a little embarrassing at first, but just take deep breaths and remind yourself that they do this all day, every day. It's no big deal at all to them. Good luck! You'll be fine. :)

Calm down. It is scary because it is your first time. You will be fine and yes they probably will look at it and examine you. It is to your benefit and you will have to have this done for a college physical anyway.
