First of all, Mbps stands for "Megabytes per second." In other words, this means how much data is being transfered through your connection. Kbps is the lowest while Gbps is the fastest.

But 1.5 Mbps isn't exactly good. We have Quest Broadband and it runs a max of 54 Mbps. The lowest and crappiest is actually 1.5 Mbps but I cant imagine that ISP's would want to sell so poorly. But then again, they are selling it for cheap anyways.

Try to look for something better. 24-54 Mbps is what you want if connecting to the internet. Though this may cost a bit more, it will literally save you more money and time. Don't waste your income on this cheap deal.

MBPS is millions of bits per second. The more mbps means the more bandwidth you will be getting. I say go with the 3.0 plan so then you will be able to down load & up load faster. If you have online photo storage the uplaod will go much quicker. Most companies dont advertise the upload speed just the download.
If you have cable service available you should look into that option because you get faster data rates.

Mbps stands for megabit per second. It refers to transmission speed of a network and in this particular subject your download speed from internet. Computers store (therefore transmit) information in bits/bytes. 8 bits is 1 bytes which typically represents one character. 1.5 Mbps means that you can download 1500000 bit per second which is roughly 1500000/8 = 187500 bytes (187.5K) per second. With 3.0 Mbps would let you download twice as much per second. Typically 1.5 Mbit is a low and cable or typicaly DSL speed. Unless you have lots of large files (video, high resolution images, full CD images, etc) 1.5 Mbit is a sufficient speed although I would take twice as much for $5 more. 1.5 Mbit for $12.99 is a very good deal for where I live (New Jersey)

Thats about average for high speed networks but there are broad band nets that DL in the gigabytes per second range .Thats like flying at warp speed!

megabauds per second. honestly, these are max speeds and not average speeds. having had both you won't really even be able to tell the difference. in cases where you are downloading large files then maybe, but for regular surfing you won't be able to tell the difference. just get whatever is cheaper and it will suit you just fine.

Stands for Mb per second and these are both pretty fast especially if you are going from dial-up.
