when will DSL be available E. San Jose CA.?????

at&t said I am out of range for at&t DSL for now.

It isn't East San Jose. Some parts of East San Jose are not too far from the nearest phone substation. It is just your house. Nothing you can do about it, and AT&T won't tell you when or if they will do anything about it. So just get Comcast cable. Comcast kind of sucks because their customer service is horrible, but its your only choice.

why would you get dsl when cable is better and not much more expensive?
