i had been thinking about going on the pill and after 1 1/2 week of being on it i couldn't handle how it made me feel so i stopped taking it, i haven't taken it in 3 days and today i got my period... TWO WEEKS EARLY, my husband and i have had lots of sex and do not use any other contraceptives. we do want to have children, and i had only started the pill cause i was going to try for a new position and i was afraid i wouldnt get it if i got pregnant. well.. i didn't get it anyway, so it wouldn't make a difference either way.

is it normal to get your period when you stop taking the pill so early into your cycle?

I just went tho the same problem... I stop the pill 1 week into it, and i start to spot, and spot.. Then, finally i could tell my period came, this went on for about 2 weeks.. I went to the doctor, and she told me " Thats what i get for stopping early"!!! Whats happening is that, your system is out of place, and it's going to try to get back to normal.. It's going to take a while, and i believe you need to talk to the doctor about to be sure.. She can give you different birth control, or give you something different!!! I wish you luck, and i know it is annoying to have your period that long, i hated it !!! But, Things will get back to normal, take some time...

I once forgot my last week of pills when I went on vacation and my period started within a couple of days, though, of course, it was a week early. Yours would be especially light, because there would have been little time for the luteum to build up after only a week or two. I find it unusual that your body would become dependent on those outside hormones so quickly, but that is the way it is with some women's bodies.

Plus implantation bleeding does not happen with every woman; only about 1 in 3 women experience it at all. Also, it generally takes 6-8 days for the fertilized egg to implant, so if you've only been off for 3 days, implantation bleeding seems an unlikely explanation.

Even if you take the pill for the whole cycle, the bleeding you have is not really a period, it's withdrawal bleeding because you stopped taking the hormone pills. Usually you stop after 3 weeks, but I'd guess the result would be the same stopping after 1 1/2 weeks. Being on the pill isn't a real cycle.

Now that you're off your cycles should go back to normal (unless of course you're pregnant.)

Oh yes, very normal when you quit the pill in the middle of your cycle. When you take the pill you put hormones in your body that keep you from ovulating, they regulate your cycle to it is a full month, if you quit them in the middle you are messing yourself up! your body is going crazy thinking what do we do now? So I doubt it you are pregnant yet, implantation bleeding does not last but a day or so and it is not constant bleeding it is just minor spotting and the color should be pinkish not bright red. I think you just did the wrong thing quitting the pill when you were not suppossd to, you should quit the pill when you finish a package.

You always get your period after you stop taking the pill, even if it hasn't been the full cycle. There are different pills that you can take that have lower doses of hormones, but if you miss one you will probably start your period... although this doesn't mean you should stop taking the rest of your cycle... keep taking it until you are done...

If you want to start birth control again just ask your doctor for a different kind, a lower dose birth control... I have to do this because regular birth control made me feel awful! The lower dose makes me feel somewhat nauseas but I never get to the point of throwing up!

But, if you want a baby just go have a baby :O) goodluck and I hope you get pregnant soon!

It's perfectly normal and no, you aren't pregnant. The hormones in the pill built up in your system and when you stopped taking them your body had a withdrawl bleed--which is what happens when you take birth control. Also, your next cycle may not come on time because of the birth control. One other thing, if you are trying to become pregnant or not preventing it then you need to go to your gyn for a Pre-conception visit to get checked out and get on prenatals.
