First, use a good waterproof (and i mean ONLY WATERPROOF not water-resistant) mascara. Almay makes one that I am in love with.
Prep the eye area by powdering lightly--I use a pressed powder--this will create a dry "base" for the makeup. If you're using a pencil liner, lightly powder over that, then reapply.
Should last all day, lasts for me in 102 degree heat and 90% humidity. And swimming, too!

Don't use eye cream any higher than the top of your cheekbone, during the day.

Also, slightly dampen your makeup brush (and use the same color you are wearing on your lids--or pressed power), then smudge it under your lash line. It will provide a barrier that your eyeliner and/or mascara (should be waterproof)cannot cross, thus preventing the whole "coon eye" look.

The best brand of waterproof eyeliner is Prestige and you can buy it at CVS or Walgreen's and the best waterproof mascara(for the bottom lashes) is Maybelline Lash Discovery.

Well, I'm not a beauty fanatic, but I do know some tips. Personally, though, I don't wear mascara for that reason, and I don't really need to, my eyelashes are long and dark enough (Chippewa Indian blood, it rox ^^) But you could try using concealer for the underneath of your eyes, you just have to find the right color for your skin. As for smudging mascara, try not to rub your eyes or anything, and if you have to pic a fuzzy or an eyelash or something of of them, use tweezers so you don't rack off any mascara, that and you won't get it under your nails, cuz some of that stuff is a bugger to get out from under those areas. That's all I know, hope it helps.

Try water-proof mascara and smudge-proof eyeliner. Or just don't wear a lot of eye makeup in the summer.

I always wear waterproof and I've never had that problem. Maybe try Clinique or one of the other more high quality brands because if mascara is a staple in your life then trust me it's worth it.

Mary Kay's new waterproof mascara is triathalon tested! Allure magazine referenced it in April or May's issue as one of their favs. Plus its guaranteed 100%. Or you can have someone come demo it on you and "try before you buy".

Try waterproof mascara and colorstay eye liner from Revlon. They have a lot of colorstay makeup.

mary kay has a "washable" waterproof mascara that I love. You can cry and it won't come off, but you can wash it off with soap and water. It acts like a waterproof without the problems of removal that come with the waterproof.
