Did one of your family members ever say something that really hurt you but you didn't want to let them see that you were hurt by their comment?

My sister said something to me today. and i know i shouldn't care what she or anyone else thinks of me but it still hurt me. but she wouldn't understand if i told her that it hurt me she'd just be like so. and i don't really wanna tell her that the comment she said to me really bothered me.

yes, just about everyone in my family always compares me to my Gothic cousin because i wear black alot... My aunt hurt me the most one day when we were sitting in a restaurant and she saw that my nails were black and asked me if it meant anything,(she thought i was in some sort of cult,... i don't get out enough to be in one, nor do i want to be in one)... and i told her that it was just a color,.... well, in less than ten seconds, sh e changed the subject and started talking about my cousin and her new piercing this week.... it ran all over me, and i knew she was hinting around that she thought i had a problem and was comparing me to my cousin.... i never mentioned it to her or anyone except my brother, and to this day she will talk about my passion for the color black and automatically change the subject to my cousin....

Yeah families can hurt with some of the comments they make. But mostly they are said out of angry and the person does not mean what they say. I guess you just get over it in time, but definately try and talk to her.

yeah that happened to me... but .. i dont really wanna say what but my brother actually sed sumthing to me that hurt me but ... i cried.. cuz it was upseting to me but i kinda got over it.. i told hi that it hurt me he didnt really care but i told my mom to do sumthing about what he commented it rreally upset me and she talked to him and it worked... but . i talked to my brother and i said plz dont say that again and it worked if ur sister says so.. be like how wood u like it if (( and then say sumthing bad about her)) and then be like huh? and then she wood say soo or ohh noo! but if she says soo then be like yeah but what doesnt hurt u may hurt me! everybody is diffrent and please dont say that that really hurt mee tell it to her like that!dont worry anyways ... yeah thatrs what happened to me and i hope it helped =)
