No it is not illegal as a general rule... BUT a number of states have laws against it. So the most acccurate answer would depend on what states are involved in your case.
Go up to a site that sells wine online, you will quickly find a list of states they can ship to and ones they can't.
Either way, I doubt you will have much of a problem even if it is against the law in your state.
