blocks antihistimine, all I know. Think its a H2 blocker.

Ranitidine or Zantac is an H2 receptor blocker in the stomach. Histamine stimulates cells in the stomach to make stomach acid. By blocking Histamine, less stomach acid is produced with Zantac, allowing stomach ulcers to heal.
