Well since I dont actually se emuch of a "quesion" I'll just go over operating systems...

An Operating system is a "program" that makes your computer work, It is installed on your harddrive, and the most popluar OS would be Windows(XP) next coming Macinstos, then varois versions of linux.

If you are looking for a Operating system that is free I would look into Linux.
