I have been seeing my boyfriend and we are living together. We want to get married. All of my friends like him and he has met my sister and brother who also like him but my parents wont meet him because he is not from same country as me. we are both from europe but they are not happy with that. I am from england and he is from croatia.

Your parents can not run your life after 18 and you cant run theirs, I say go for it and eventually they will get over it and come around or they wont. Ether way it is there loss, you need and deserve to be in love and happy with the person of your choosing

ok, do your parents pay your bills? if not, then they have no say in the matter. if they do, prepare to get cut off financially. still they have no say though. my parents gave me such a hard time about my second wife that i didn't even tell them about my third time getting married AND HAVING KIDS. it was none of their business. PERIOD! yeah, i know you love'em and they ARE your parents but this is YOUR time for happiness. they already have theirs. don't they want happiness for you? like my old man always said, "you can pick your friends but you CAN'T PICK YOUR FAMILY". Oh, and if you decide to go ahead and marry him, don't expect them to attend the wedding or to come around to your way of thinking later. they will do all they can to break you guys up. keep your distance!!! i mean it!
