Id say hes a wimp. Maybe he's afraid of Donna's mum in a way and just agrees with everything to keep the peace and avoid an argument or hearted discussion. I'm sure he must have his own opinions about things to, that might somewhat be different from the wife's, from time to time. Doesn't sound like a stimulating marriage to me or one where both people in it learn and grow together and lean to compromise on differences if he's a 'yes man' all the time.

But then maybe like most woman.shes 'always right'.anyway..lol

Men learn at some point what it is to keep the marriage going, and how to keep himself happy.....We find out quickly that the saddest we are is when the wife is angry, especially at us.....he is smart, not a wimp....he has learned the secret of a good marriage

The big question is what most women want. Do they want a pet..someone who agrees to whatever she says? Is there true happiness in that? Or having a companion that will emotionally, sexually and intelectually stimulate you? I think that most woman whohave this arrangement quickly get bored with their mate and either cheat or divorce in a short time.

Who's Donna?

He may not be either particularly. If he's happy that way thats all that matters. To be clever would be to arrange things so that the wife THINKS she is getting what she wants when really he is getting what he wants. Wimpy would be not sticking up for yourself when you need to. Maybe his wife just has enough respect for him not to ask him to do things or put up with things that would disrespect him so he has no reason not to go along with her. If their goals are the same and their ideas are the same it would work.

Clever because he's keeping his wife happy and just because he always says yes to her doesn't mean he agrees or even that he thinks/does what she says he's just making her feel good & happy by agreeing & then happily doing what he wants anyway.
Why argue over nothing when theres so much big stuff couples row over

Could be a bit of both - some guys like to please their women, some like being doormats and let their women walk all over them, some like the woman to have all the power.

But if they're both happy, does it really matter?

Aloha!
