That's a good question, and the answer probably is because it hardens on its way out, the weight is at the bottom therefore that part will be more rounded.
BUT, eggs from other animal groups such as reptiles and insects come out perfectly rounded...why is that then?
That answer is really badly worded, I apologise if no one understands what I'm on about.

have you not exmained your excrement? or have you looked at your poo lately... anything expelled generally from the human body comes well to a point . as i can only imagine the same for our feathered friends. and there is this: if it wasn't for the egg where would we all be...
