My personal opinion is that abortion should be legal. There are some legitimate reasons for aborting babies, such as: When a CHILD becomes pregnant at her Father's (or other relative's) doing, when a woman is raped, when medical evidence is provided that the baby has MAJOR deformations (like misplaced limbs or no skull), or when a woman is almost gauranteed to die b/c of the fetus in utero. I believe that abortion should NEVER be used as birth control though. People need to be more responsible if they wish to not have children. Those woman should not be allowed to have abortions.

Basically, I don't believe in abortions unless they are for the above mentioned reasons. I also do not think the government, or any government, has the right to tell someone what they can and can't do with their bodies. For instance, if a 12 year old girl is raped by her brother or father, not only would it be traumatic for a CHILD of that age to have a baby, but that baby will most likely have congenial problems that include, but are not limited to, severe mental retardation, learning disorders, rare blood disorders and psychological problems. For a goverment to not allow this CHILD to have an abortion would be wrong. No body of government should have the right to force this situation on someone, especially when the CHILD did nothing at all to "deserve it". The child is the victim in this case. She should not be forced to pay a life sentence. And that's exactly what would happen if it were illegal to get an abortion. Again, I want to stress that I don't think it should be allowed as birth control. You should need a doctor's "prescription", so to speak, to obtain an abortion, backed with professional support.

it's a NECESSARY evil it is legal and often the best option. Yes, I agree it's killing hard to ignore SCIENCE that proves a embryo has it's own heart it's own blood. Should it be allowed YES! There are countries where it's illegal even if the birth will kill the mom. I never want to see a AMERICA where PERSONAL choices are taken away. You can not force others to believe what you do. I do see both sides in the end it's only up to the mother. I DO more highly disagree with abortion after 14 weeks at 27 weeks a baby can live WITHOUT the mother. It should not be allowed after 14 weeks unless a mother Will or ccould die. Would i do it, yes, in the case of rape my husband ould not want the child nor would I. In the case if the baby had a severe defect and would have no quality of life without a second thought I'd end that suffering. ALSO 4 THOSE WHO SAY ONLY in rape or mothers life WHAT! if the child has a problem that will cause it's death anyway or cause it to live with pain and frequent surgeries the mom should ABORT! FOR THE CHILD own sake.

Abortion is the termination of a human life. Termination of life is killing. Making it legal does not make it right. It is still the killing of a human. No, it should not be allowed. No I would not do it. There are plenty of people who want to adopt. I would suggest that if someone were considering this that they do a lot of research on the subject and see pictures of aborted babies. See the reality of what they were contemplating doing. It's easy to say " I'm going to kill him for doing that to me", but could you pull the trigger and murder someone? Probably not, but the same people who could not pull the trigger to kill an adult or even a deer will have abortions and this is because they have been numbed by society to think of an unborn fetus as something less than a baby when in fact it is a baby. A human life that deserves protecting and nurturing by someone who will respect it.

Personally, I am against it. I realize that opinions, particularly stemming from spiritual/religious beliefs have much influence on questions such as this.

As for myself, I never contemplated having an abortion. Even when a minor and entertaining the possibility of pregnancy, I wouldn't concede to an abortion. Having my own children and trying to raise them right and sometimes, failing: I have already concluded that should any of my children have an unwanted pregnancy, that I would take on the "burden" of raising my grandchildren.

I should hope that this does not happen but have already made a decision in case it should. Preparing is always the best route to take-it makes decisions that much easier to make...even if you don't like being in that particular "spot" should it occur later on.

I go for abortion and the reason why is because everyone should be able to do with there body what ever they want. I wouldnt do it but I will support it because what if the girl thats preg. got rape shes not ever going to accept that baby especially because that would only make her think about that horrible day. or what if the young lady is not ready to become a mother since shes just a kid herself so theres a lot of good reason for abortion so I do support it. Its not murder what so ever. its better to have an abortion than to bring a baby to this world were everything is going to be difficult for he/she.

Abortion is a matter of choice and beyond anyone's judgment other than God's. I believe that abortion is literally murder, since it is the deliberate ending of a human life, but I am not God. God gave us free will, God gave us a right to choose what we do. Since the state says abortion is still legal, it's a matter of choice. The state has said that "murder" is illegal, and has not yet defined abortion as "murder," so there you have the current state of affairs.

We do not have the right to impose our morals and values on those around us, nor should we make those choices for those around us. We have only the right to practice our own beliefs, to implement our own values, providing those beliefs and values do not impose on the rights of others. That's GOD'S LAW.

Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, render unto the Lord what is the Lord's. In other words, you must abide by the laws of the land, and keep the way of the Lord, leading by example rather than tyranny.

That's my opinion...as to would I or wouldn't I do it? I CHOOSE not to answer that question as it is my private issue, between me and God.

Wow, you're asking for a can of worms to be opened here with people. Abortion should only be allowed in the cases of Rape, Incest or if the life of the mother is truly in danger. Other than that it should not be an option for birth control.

There is no over the counter form of birth control that is 100%. So if you engage in sex you have to be intelligent enough to know that there is a chance of getting pregnant. If you don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex. You must hold yourself accountable to your decisions.

It should be up to the mother (it would help too if she talked it over with the father). Personally, I'd rather have someone go through an abortion than bring the child into the world with no resources to feed and shelter him/her. Sure, that kid can turn out to be the person who cures cancer, but the odds of getting enough of an education on welfare money are slim to none.

I feel that it's a personal decision between a couple. People who get abortions have valid reasons for doing so, and it's not the rest of society's business.

Besides, banning abortion will not stop people from doing it.

I am pro-choice but I would never do it myself. Recently there were people in town with huge signs showing the aborted fetus at different stages. This, in my opinion was in very poor taste for the pro-lifers, mainly because children were exposed to it when their parents were driving down the street and had no choice but to drive past the people campaigning. Lots of letters to the editor in my newspaper about this saying how their kids were in tears. That's not the way to go about changing people's opinions.
