My friend used to have an 85 Chrysler. It would randomly say "A door is ajar". We would always reply to the car "a door is a door, a jar is a jar"

I think that years ago to stop the door closing they placed a jar in the way. It would have been a bit messy if they used a ferret!

Especially since a door has no use for a jar....go figure.

I leave my back door and screen door ajar so my cat(Ben) can come and go during the afternoon and evening.

It's just what they say.

I guess they might do it to let air through... or maybe they want to be burglarized... or burgled, depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on.
