So if you have to put your ceiling fan in the winter position for winter and the summer position for summer...which position would you want to put it in while you are running air conditioning?

Summer position... it'll blow the air down. In winter, you want it to suck the air up towards the ceiling.

Of course I guess it also depends on where your vents are. That could make a difference. In Phoenix, many vents are in the ceiling-- cold air drops. In many cold climates, vents are near the floor-- to deal with winter and again, that cold air drops to the ground.

While running your air condition, your ceiling fan needs to be in the summer position because this is cooling down your ceiling area and circulating the cool air. Remember heat rises.

summer position so it draws the cool air upward, as opposed to the winter position which draws the warm air downward
