Is it true that older countries tend to the rich ones?

U.S. over 200 yrs old, Is true that nation in Africa and South America are younger are poorer. Or is age just a number/ Does the older a country get the more wealthy it is?
Ex: China,U.S.(older)
Congo, Nigeria, E. Timor(younger countries)

I disagree

Ethiopia is a has existed as a country for much longer than the US, yet it is among Africa's poorest countries.

Using this logic, Egypt, Greece and Ethiopia would be the richest.
