No, unfortunantly no.
There're people trying to implant Microchips into their nervous systems, and brains, to make robots, and computers move, and think. It's pretty freaky. But thats the closest we have to any form of 'evolution' or alters.

I'm gonna say no. We haven't experienced anything like the disaster that caused the alter users to come into existance.

Yes. all anime is real in an alternate reality. What we think of as imagination is actual our own alter power to see into these other realms.
