I love languages. I want to learn a lot of languages and want to use them and such. What could i do? a linguist comes to mind, but what exactly do linguists do? any other ideas? I have wanted to be a surgeon for a while now, but i love languages so much, and that wouldn't be too helpful, well i mean it would, but it would take too much time to learn both a lot of languages and go to med school. thanks!

It really depends on what field you actually want to get your bread and milk from. See a liguist is a nice job or u can actually become a teacher in languages and along with it learn in the same school free of charge different languages. I mean colleges like a community college. thats one way. if you want to make a career in it you might make around 50k a year or may be max 60k a year.
Medical field requires a lot of dedication and determination to advance further. Now if money is a concern then you definately know meds earn more than anybody else. plus you get a chance to serve the community around you. And learning languages after you med school can be done too and you can definately learn one language at one time while going to school. see asking yourself questions would really answer what should be done . It totally depends on what really is your passion. if both weight equally then do both.!!

Go to med school and just learn a couple of other languages for now. Then you could be one of those Dr.'s that travels to countries that have no or little medical care, like Doctors without Borders. French would be a good language to learn, a lot of them in those countries speak French. Good Luck whatever you decide to do.

Or you could learn some of the high demand langauges that the military needs and then join the Army. They actually pay you more if you know certain in-demand languages, especially the Arabic languages right now.

Do you have any idea how valuable it is to speak more than one language as a medical practictioner? The ability to converse with a patient or family member who speaks a different language is truly valuable.

Take the opportunity to learn as many languages as you can before starting medical training. You won't regret having the ability to talk with more people.

Don't simply mobilephone. Go to a potential paintings location in character. Also, get dressed the way you could when you had been going to begin operating there proper while you stroll in. Be optimistic within the interview, and seem the interviewer within the eye.
