I was born with only one kidney and would like to know any strains pregnancy might cause.

At each visit to the doctor they check for protein in the urine to keep track of how the kidneys are doing with added work load .Be sure to tell the doctor because it will be necessary to watch carefully.

I did some quick research and it appears that pregnancy shouldn't be too big of an issue other than a higher risk for pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure) and that you bp would need to be cautiously monitored
