BC pills don't stop your periods.

They make them more regular.

And yes, once in awhile somebody gets pregnant on the pill.

I've talked to several women who did.

The best way to reduce your odds of getting pregnant on the pill is to count your days. The 3-4 days in the middle of the month is when you can get pregnant (ovulation). Fourteen days after ovulation, that's when your period starts. If your cycle is 30 days long, then you will ovulate 16 days after your period starts. If it's 28 days, then you are ovulating 14 days after your period starts.
The 2nd half of the month is always 14 days, but the 1st half of the month varies from one person to another.

Don't have sex during the very middle of the month. That will help a lot to keep your BC pills effective. And remember those sperm are still alive for a couple days after they have entered your body.

Yes there is always a chance you could get pregnant. Most Birth controls only work at the most 98.9%. Some have weight restrictions... if you weigh over a certain amount the percent drops. Still use condoms, that makes the % higher. You can also have a period and be pregnant. There are some women who have a period for 3 months before they find out they are pregnant. If you do get pregnant though you will eventually (most of the time, the body does strange things) skip a period. Hope I helped you out.. the best thing to do is just talk to your doctor about it.. Ask him/her if there is a weight restriction on your birth control ( I know for the patch there is) And also with the pill, you are suppose to be taking them around the same time every day.. if you dont then that makes the percentage drop also... Hope this helps..

Used correctly (i.e. taken at the same time every day and no pills missed) then you have less than 1% chance of getting pregnant each time you have sex. If you skip pills or take them irregularly, your chances go up; your package insert will tell you when to use a backup method.

(Your periods ARE going to be regular on the Pill because it's designed that way.)

Birth control pills are not 100% effective as the doctor will tell you, as the packaging will tell you, so the answer is yes. I had 2 children while on birth control pills.

The pill does not claim to be 100% effective, nor will any doctor tell you that. Take them as close to the same time as you can every day, never miss one and you'll be as close to 100% as you can get.
