Ignorance and religion are the most important issues facing the gay community.

All of our social problems stem from the fact that straight people don't know anything about us. All they have is conceptions, most of which are misconceptions.

Religion, because that's the greatest threat to the world in general (and, reading through previous answers, it's fairly obvious that religious people have a fair degree of animosity toward homosexuality).

Inclusion in the federal non-discrimination act. And enforcement thereof. Almost everything else fits under that. (Eventually, someone would realize that marriage fits, as does the military etc)

I think it's VERY important to note that the fight for equal rights is NOT going to be over, or anywhere near it, once the whole marriage thing is sorted out (assuming that's the first thing that happens). I think people on both sides see that as THE most important thing, and frankly, it's not. It is VERY important to a lot of people, but employment and housing are too; there are states where those aren't protected.

I know you have asked a serious question, and are expecting an answer. I love the b*tch StockyNosePicker2010 that says quit cramming your lifestyle down our throats. That is f*cking hilarious. It is like "Oh you big bad gays need to stop picking on us. We are only 90 percent of the population, and we need protection from the homos." And this ho is over in the gay section answering questions. How f*cking stupid can she be?

I just can't get over how violent these answers are. I am not suprised at how stupid they are just how violent they are. Why are they so frightened? They are like children watching a horror movie while mom and dad are out on the town.

To everyone who answered AIDS or STDs, you are wrong. That is not exclusive to the gay community. And until the lilly white christian world figures that out, their kids will keep on dying.

The one important issue of the gay community is tolerance. I don't care if breeders like me, but they need to accept me for who I am and know that I am not going away.

We are plagued by a number of heterosexual, or heterosexual wannabe people who are so insecure in their own lives that they feel compelled to spit venom on ours.
This starts with George Bush and works its way down to the even deeper dregs of humanity, as seen in a few of the hater messages above.
If we could somehow show these people the light, the Love God has bestowed upon us all, and commanded us to show one another, we'd have a happy and peaceful existence. The other issues that sincere folks brought up, like AIDS, STDs etc. would be solved if we could move our government and society off the hatred dime.

Stop trying to force everyone else to accept your lifestyle, which we never will.
It is not that we hate anyone, but as Christian whites, we are tired of stuff being shoved down our throats and, as you have seen, the last few ACLU cases have lost miserably.
Trust me: take what you've got...it ain't gonna get any better than this. If you blow this, you have blown it back to the 1950's. And I, for one, wouldn't care so much but your people may...
I do hope it is the last we hear of it. Now, shut up and go away- back to the closet where you belong. Otherwise, we Anglo-Christian heterosexuals are liable to begin to get a little pissed off. And you wouldn't like that, now would you?
Oh, believe me, we are primed and ready for a fight. Are you sure you want it to be you? I, for one, would not.

Survival. Simple biological survival. So called Christians want to make being gay a crime again, and Muslims want to kill gays. Its in their religion. I think the solution is for some rich gays to pool some money and buy an island and set it up as a kind of gay homeland. It could be economically self sufficient and even profitable and offer a haven to gays from around the world who are persecuted. Fat chance, huh?

When people learn that love happens, we will all be safe and happy. Also people have to learn that just because they are happy, it doesn't mean that things should always stay the same. LGBT's matter! We are here, we will not shut up. We are people we have rights. Get used to it.

And do the people who think God hates gays, check this out: http://www.godmademegay.com/
And try to remember that not everyone is a christian and not everyone has to think like you.

I believe that the most important issue is equal rights. Without rights, the rest of the issues are pointless. I mean think about it, if there's no rights, there's no way to have any arguement for marriage, or anything.

Mainstream acceptance. Same old same old. Having the same rights as straights( I am a happily married heterosexual ). Gay unions should have the same validity as straight unions. Love should not be judged by what one does in the bedroom, and with whom. Twenty years ago I would have said AIDS, but human rights touches us all.
