I would say yes it is safe. However you should wear all the protective gear. Helmet, gloves, gogles, boots, chest protector, etc. Pretty much the worst thing that would happen is a broken arm or leg. I have been riding for years and I have not been injured yet. You should ride at trails that are designated for dirtbikes. Dirt bikes are pretty much safe for the most part.

When I was 13 all I wanted was a horse. You could go clean across the USA with out a license and they could go where no motoized vehicle could .The ultimate 2wd 4wd machine. You got somewhere to ride this dirtbike? Who is paying for it? Buy a dirtbike that is also street legal and at leat 250cc You got any experience on a dirtbike? You know ,throttling, cluthing and shifting and braking. Thought about any of this ? Extreme sports is done by pros who have broken a lot of bones to do the jumps and stunts they do SO DO NOT TRY TO DUPLICATE THEM!!!! Maybe someday I'll see ya on the road

NO!! Last month, in two separate incidents, two of my nephews were in motorcycle accidents. One (8 yrs old) had a head injury, but thankfully is doing better. The other (20 yrs old) will be paralyzed from the chest down for the rest of his life. So no, they are not safe in my opinion.

As long as you follow common sense and local traffic laws, it's perfectly safe. There is, however, that small percentage of the time that you will get hurt, but it's those risks that makes life worth living, right? :)

Only if you teach him all the safety rules, My next door neighbor's child just broke his back about 2 weeks ago trying to jump a ditch, I don't think he will ever walk again. Not trying to scare you, but teach him what he should and should not do.

If you don't ride like a complete moron it is pretty safe. This is all in your willingness to ride safely and enjoy yourself.
