It really depends on how often he smoked. If he was a heavy user, then the detox time is longer, opposed to someone who took a toke and that was it. The normal detox time for MJ is about 28 days for urine. Coke is around 72 hours. If they test hair samples, that usually goes back 3+ months. If they test cerebrospinal fluid, that goes back alot longer. But odds are, it's just a simple urine test.
Also, if you are thinking about the "guarenteed pass" synthetic urine from High Times magizine, becareful. Some tests actually will know that it is fake. You get what you pay for.
The best that I've done was drinking alot of water, a steam room/sauna, and herbal detox. That worked for me, and I would recommend it, just as a precaution, even if you have been clean for three months. One can never be too careful.

depends on what the drug test is for-- either way-- most of it is out-- it would be in such a small amount that they couldnt prove u smoked it or were just in the same room as someone who did

I would think he should be worried only if they sample his hair. that stuff should be out of his urine after 30 days or so, but hair tests can go back as far as 6 months.

friend of mine, had a drug test and it had been 4 months since he smoked, it was still detected.

No. Most tests only trace to one month of usage for mary jane.
