I haven't, because, as a child, I had a fear of drowning.

Yeah i have ...speaking of drowning I had a bad experience with that on my camping trip with my mom years ago, we were in a raft and the current was to harsh and we were tangled by a tree we went under and my leg was stuck well to make a long story short I have never been camping since that day.

Yes, at age 8. If you are no longer a child, it shouldn't be an issue now, hopefully, although when I was a missionary in Puerto Rico for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I did meet one person who was afraid of going under the water all the way. What we do in the Church is have the one hand of the person supported by the elder or man performing the baptism ordinance, and the other hand is supported by the arm, so even if someone slips, the man can pull you back up.

I'm happy to say I have been, and like yourself I was terrified of being submerged into water due to a fear of drowning. But I took a leap of faith on that day, and I have never regretted it. ( That was November 14th, 1971) and I was 9 years old. You know, as I recall, I couldn't even verbalize why I had such misgivings about the whole thing...I was too embarrassed to let others know I couldn't swim. ( What I know now that I didn't know then was that most of peers couldn't swim, either...in the eternal scheme of things, that was a fairly uneventful "signifcant event" in my life...my pastor had a good, secure hold on me, and it was over in less time than it took to worry
about it.) Somehow, He never puts more on us than we can bear...and He knows where those boundaries are, better than we do most of the time. Good luck in all your future endeavors. Let us know how this turns out.

dear kat s ,
yes, I have been baptized and just this week I was able to help a 70+ yr old lady and her hubby get baptized. She, like you, feared drowning, but with the good Lord and good friends, anything is possible...Fear not.........the Lord is your Salvation, of whom should you be afraid?

Yes I was baptized when I was a baby. My mom wasn't baptized until she was like 12 or something. Its never too late. They don't dunk you under. If you can take a shower you can get baptized.

YES I HAVE. I WAS BAPTIZED WHEN I WAS 10 AND THEN AGAIN AT 24. WHEN YOU GIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD THE FEAR OF DROWNING WHILE BEING BAPTIZED IS GONE. GIVE YOUR LIFE TO HIM AND YOU WILL BE REJOICEFUL.
