AGAIN, if you haven't see my other question, I got this sentence from a DICTIONARY, so you can't tell me that I haven't defined it correctly!!!

I'd choose "and" but I suppose either would be ok.

Either one would fit, but the meaning is different. "But" implicitly states that while "old fashioned" may sound like an antiquated speech form nowadays, once upon a time it did not seem so. (Whether that statement is actually true is another matter.) "And" makes the statement a bit of a pun - "old fashioned" sounds (like) old fashioned, i.e. it doesn't sound like truck, or balloon or etc. (Kind of like the joke "What word do all Harvard graduates spell wrong" and the answer is "the word "wrong"")

The better choice is "but". However, your sentence is intrinsically flawed. You should never define a world with itself.
"old-fashioned" - a word that .... "old fashioned" today.
You should replace the second "old fashioned" with "archaic", "out of style" or a something like that.

You would say "but" because the two phrases are conflicting, one is a fact, while one an opinion.

"but" as it is comparing something that is no longer used. "and" would initially indicate that it is Additionally used today.
