hell yeah, many of our rock stars had testfisty on captail hill. I remeber DEE SRYDNER form Twisetd Sister, he came on the hill in full contcert grab.Thank to the pastys we have the little warning labels on the cover art.

This was a project started by the wives of several congressmen in 1985, including Tipper Gore. They created an organization Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) to promote censorship and rating of pop music, and to force labeling of non-approved music. I believe some CDs still carry the RIAA labels. PMRC convinced congress to conduct hearings and an investigation into "pornography" in music. I believe PMRC still exists, but definitely nobody pays much attention any more.

Hmmm. I remember it as RAP, not rock that Tipper Gore was incensed about.

She backed off when it turned out that it wasn't little record labels but huge corporations masquerading as little record labels producing the stuff.

The rappers are (and were) all fakes, middle class kids pretending to be toughs and thugs to make a buck at somebody else's expense . . .

I dont remember, but i think that was stupid. Ex: Free speech. I guess they were trying to win the approval of a certain population in the U.S. i grew up on r&b,rap, pop, and rock and roll. So i like every type of music. Music isnt what is destroying america, its the people.
