Check whether you have a CD Rom or CD/DVD Rom or CD RW/DVD Rom or CD RW/DVD RW Rom.

If you have an CD RW/DVD Rom and if your movie file is above 800MB, then you can't burn a DVD because you dont have the DVD burning facility in it, instead you can split the movie using some third party softwares and then write onto blank cd's in a series of some discs, depending upon the movies size.

But if you have an CD RW/DVD RW Rom then you can simply buy a blank DVD from your nearby store and just burn the movie in the DVD movie format using any burning software.

Yes. As long as the filesize of the movie doesn't exceed the capacity of the CD you're burning it onto. If that is the case you may need to use a larger capacity CD or multiple CD's. Though, it won't be able to be played automatically. The person you're giving it to will have to rip the file off the CD then play it.

It can be put on a DVD.....if you have the software (like Nero or similiar) and a DVD burner (a DVD RW/R).

You must have the software and the hardware to put the video on a disk.

Yes, although the quality is quite a bit lower. What your looking for is called a VCD, or Video CD.
