It isn't as long as flying from DC to China. Which I've done probably around three times, and then back, so six.
They'll put a movie on probably if it is a long flight or bring a book or magazine. Or... if you like writing or drawing bring a notepad and do that. Or you can always just sleep through the flight. Or.. though you may not be sitting next to someone you know, you could still talk to the person next to you and make a new friend.
Have fun.

I don't know how you feel about reading, but if you are looking for something to occupy your time other than electronics...I would recommend bringing along a great book. You could also consider some magazines or word puzzles, but I guess that just depends on your personality. Good luck on your long flight!

Take a few paperbacks, the stewardesses will offer you magazines, there will be an inflight radio with a few stations, take a notepad and doodle and write stories, take a deck of cards and play solitaire, take extra snacks, they never give you enough snacks, due cross-stictch or knitting, get a crossword puzzle book at the newsstand, learn Spanish by reading a Spanish Bible....

anyway, buy some magazines at the airport and maybe a puzzle book. those are always fun.

Some great and funny answers but you can also by casino games that are battery operated (no guys, not talking about a VIBE). That kept me busy for a few hours but watch out for the little old foreign guy that is drooling on your shoulder as you play it. Have FUN!

Read, write, draw, journal...any of the above involve books. If that doesn't thrill you, take a deck of cards, and play solitaire games on the flight.
