Singing CAN be taught, but not everyone is capable singing well. Some people cannot distingish notes that are too close in pitch. Without a tuned ear, one cannot hear the note they produce, so cannot know if they are pitching right.

We have all experienced that one person in a group who hits more than half the notes sourly and looks puzzled when criticised. Most of us who don't sing well know it because we can hear ouselves singing badly.

We need the feed back from our own ears to, at least, approximate the pitch adjustment we need to make. Some of us cant hear it. You probably have heard a severely hearing impaired person speak. The words may be garbled or slurred. The voice may either be a complete monotone, or oddly squeaky. They cannot hear what they are doing wrong.

Everyone is capable of singing ,now very well i couldn't promise you but,if you believe you have what it takes to learn and improve go for it .Half of the music artist in our world i bet were trained by pros taking lessons can be expensive! If you know anyone close to you like friends family etc that can help you improve and show you what you need to work on then do it.If not give yourself singing lessons in the shower thats what i do even though sometimes it irritates my family but oh well they will forgive me one day when i become famous :)

I was born with the talent to sing, but to be a great singer and a professional singer, you need to have lessons, that is a must. There are many voice teachers out there. At Citrus College in Glendora, CA, they have many teachers that can train you. Your local church or school may have professional music teachers that can train you.

I have heard voice teachers say that you can learn how to sing, just as I have heard art teachers say that you can learn how to be an artist. But I don't believe it. You can improve an already good voice, but you cannot change a mediocre or poor voice to a good one.

i do not believe you can learn to sing. you can learn the technical aspects behind music so that you know a whole note from a treble clef, but one's true ability to hit various notes, carry a tune, etc. is born in them.

There is inborn talent, but even a mediocre voice (like mine) can be trained to sound good. A good voice doesn't guarantee success, and a so-so voice can lead to great stardom.
